This SynDaver™ brand intervertebral disc model (beta stage) incorporates at least five discrete synthetic tissues to mimic the physical structure and mechanical performance of a living spinal disc. The tough annulus fibrosus is easily distinguishable from the gelatinous nucleus pulposus. A number of variations are possible, including disease states.
